Art corner

BY ATHENA DORR
Although Rachel M. Demmer (12) is quite the artist, she currently doesn’t plan on pursuing a career in art after she graduates. However, she does want a career where she can use her creativity to catch the eyes of others. Demmer’s acrylic painting is named “Huntington Beach.” The story behind this painting takes place in California with one of her close friends. Her interest in art started her freshman year of high school in Art Exploration with Mrs. Vicki Recker. “Rachel is a very talented artist, good worker, always puts time into her pieces and shows it in her work. She is a student that does not give up,” says Mrs. Recker, one of the school art teachers.  It is evident that Demmer loves to paint and has become very talented in her art work.
